Help, I'm Drowning.......

in orange. I was really gung-ho for Fall decorating and couldn't stop with the Fall colors all of September. Now that it's October, I just can't take the orange all over my house anymore! I don't know what happened, it was such a welcome change from Summer decor, I thought..........

I miss my neutral decor. So, I redoing my Fall decorations in neutral and white! I'm taking out my white paint and tweaking everything in the living room. I am keeping the Fall colors in my kitchen for now, they don't seem to bug me in there. I know, I'm weird.

I found this cute little guy at a flea market for 3 dollars. I decided that he needed a make-over. One thing that you might not know about me is that I love birds! However, I also own four cats, so I have to live vicariously through books and statuary.
These are just my cheap-o dollar store pumpkins, no tutorial needed here, I just painted them white. I also covered up the yellow color on the stem with white paint and carefully left the green showing.
Here we go, much more calming.

I was a little concerned about ruining the owl, but I really like him better now.

Even "Old Rusty", my fireplace, looks happier!
I added a bow tie to the owl. What do you think, with or without?

  1. Love the white and neutral, however orange/rust/peach are my favorite colors. Your pretty whites and neutrals look stunning. Hugs, Marty

  8. White pumpkins and white autumn decor just rock my world!! lol! So much more calming and clean and chic looking. I have a difficult time with too much color in my house. I want the views from the windows to be the artwork and color - so I'm in total agreement with you about all your white. :) I was at first skeptical about your owl....but he turned out soooo cute - with the bowtie! lol! Great job! Happy MM to you!

  9. Surprisingly, the owl looks more scholarly with the tie. Must be the sophistication of the black, ha! I like your picture and clothes pin garland as well.

  10. The white fall decor looks lovely in your house. It's very calming. I like the owl painted white and I like the black ribbon around his neck. It adds just the right amount of contrast.

  11. I love what you've done and the little owl looks great! I used traditional autumn colors outdoors, but am decorating with the neutrals indoors, too...just feels right! Hopped over from Project Monday...I am a new follower!

  14. It all looks so lovely, the neutral palette is growing on me, too. I'm considering a whole Christmas look with vintage book pages, black velvet ribbons and touches of mercury glass and antiqued silver. Sounds good in theory, eh? Love your creativity, you are so very clever.
