Welcome To The 136th Masterpiece Monday!

Hi!
If you have a lot of basil or other herbs in your garden right now, why not make some pesto?
You can freeze it and use it later too. I love pesto. It's kinda expensive though if you buy in the store.  So here's my cheapie recipe that'll save you some big $$$$.
Mary's Cheapie Pesto
5 cloves fresh garlic
1 cup of ANY cheese

1/2 cup sunflower seeds
Salt and pepper to taste
One large handful of fresh basil and/or other herbs
1 cup of extra virgin olive oil

In a food processor or blender, add garlic and sunflower seeds, salt and pepper and mix on high. add cheese, mix on high again. Add basil and as you mix on high, add olive oil, drizzling slowly.  Enjoy or freeze!

Love, love, love some pesto. I have to harvest some basil too. I have already frozen some for herb cubes. Maybe I can make some pesto, too. Thanks for hosting!
