Welcome to the 195th Masterpiece Monday!
Hello! I'm sharing this Fall pumpkin tutorial, which yields big results, but is really super easy to do.
I hand drew my pattern. If you want your state to be more precise, you can photo copy a map and enlarge it to the size you want. If you're from Kansas, you've got it pretty easy! I used clear tape so I could still see my pattern.
After removing the pattern and reinserting the nails, I used a bowl as a pattern to trace around my state shape with a pencil. I spaced the outer nails wider than the inner nails.
Now for the fun part! I used embroidery thread in several different colors. To start, I double knotted the thread and cut the dangling string as close as possible. Then, just do your own thing! It's really fun and I even found it a bit addictive.
Now obviously, this pumpkin isn't going to last long. I would suggest using a faux pumpkin so you can enjoy it all season long and for years to come. And it would make a cute gift for someone too.
