Tutorial~Beachy Decor Ball

This is my first try at making a decor ball.

For this project I used one loofah sponge and one wiffle ball, both from the dollar store. Some shells which I already had, a hot glue gun and some very sturdy scissors.

If you haven't ever tried to cut through a loofah sponge, and I can't imagine why anyone would, it's like cutting through woven cement. So you'll need a pair of scissors that can handle it.

I just cut one side at a time and cut the strips into squares.

You can see what the center section looks like in this picture, when I was done cutting off all of the outside portion, I snipped the center piece into small pieces.

It looks like shredded wheat cereal. I kept cutting the squares into smaller pieces. The smaller they are the easier they become to cut.

I started hot gluing the pieces over all of the holes on the ball.

It looks very weird! I kept going till all of the holes were plugged.

I covered up the rest of the plastic by gluing and sticking more pieces on in random directions. I cut the pieces even smaller as I went to fit them where I needed them.

I spread out my shells and glass pebbles and just glued them where I wanted them. Sea glass and pearls would also work nicely.

Tah-Dah! Fun. Easy. Cheap.
