Hi Everyone! I just wanted to say hello to my new follows, welcome! And thank you to my regular followers who've been with me for awhile, I really appreciate you and it always surprises me when someone follows my little blog. :O)
And on the way home I spied a very tall white cosmos bush, pulled out roots and all. It couldn't be replanted, but the flowers were beautiful and I took pity on it sitting at the curb, going to waste. So, I took it home.
I trimmed the flowers off when I got home and they looked perfect in my "new" vase. I think I'm definitely going grow some of these next Spring. They're like daisies, but they come with the green feathery leaves that act as it's own filler.
I grew fuchsia cosmos last Spring and Summer, but these look great with my indoor neutral decor. I love looking at this, it's amusing how a simple yard sale vase and some free flowers can be so satisfying. Sometimes it's just the simple things in life that bring happiness and I love when that happens! :O)

Oh I so agree, the simple things usually are the best. Flowers always make me smile and your found flowers and yardsale vase are perfect. Great finds. Enjoy. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteLove the vase, and your cosmos just reminded me that I don't remember seeing mine this year? Wonder where they disappeared to??? I totally agree with the "simple things in life" that make us happy. I am so grateful for those little simple things that happen in this crazy world of ours.
ReplyDeleteTake care, Sue

Hello I stumble your blog through Coastal charm and when I saw your photo, I immediately went outside and picked my Cosmos too. They are so beautiful and they last until late Fall. Same as you I will plant a lot of Cosmos next year. As in a lot!! I will post it in my blog too. Thanks for inspiring!
ReplyDeleteThose cosmos are so nice-makes me think of spring-and it's so long away!
ReplyDeleteYep, cosmos are great for bringing on a quick smile -- and you ruffle-y vase is adorable.
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by and entering my NOEL giveaway, Mary. I have you entered!
ReplyDeleteI needed this today as we had lots of snow overnight - kind of early and I was out picking apples with the snow falling in huge clumps on my head! This makes me feel like the whole world isnt socked in and dreary.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Both your new vase and those great white cosmos-enjoy:@)
ReplyDeleteLove your post! It reminds me so much of visits to my brother in Encinitas, CA where every manner of flower grows in times and ways Ohio never experiences. I'm your newest follower and I'm excited to be following a fellow believer where I can feel like I'm in CA.

The vase has an unusual shape that's great for displaying the flowers...I can see why you snapped it up at a great bargain price!
ReplyDeleteI love white flowers, they add a touch of elegance to the decor.
