Here is the one lone picture I have of a red tomato. When I went back for it the next day, it was gone. I had such nice visions in my head last Spring of all the tomatoes I was going to grow and all of the wonderful ways to prepare them.
Anyway, a master gardener, I'm not. But, I'm not giving up! Here in California, you can have a vegetable garden all year. So, I'm starting my Winter crop, maybe I'll do better. We'll see!
Above are some carrots I'm trying to grow from just carrot tops and below are red potatoes I'm growing from a potato I chopped up. I've been reading about growing food, from the food you buy in the store. So far, it seems to actually work!
And ever since I visited the fair this year and seeing the big beautiful sunflowers growing in the garden, I added some to mine while I still can.
I can't wait to make a bouquet out of these!
These are some green beans I've started, hoping to make some Salade Nichoise
And here is where I tore out the zucchini and planted my Winter crop. Cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli. I'd like to see a bird try to fly away with those!
