I finally figured out what to do with my styrofoam head, yay! There were so many times I was going to get rid of this, but a tiny voice in my mind kept telling me to hang onto it. I made her into a jewelry holder.
She was missing the tip of her nose, so first I had to do some reconstructive surgery. I used some spare styrofoam, toothpicks and glue, not too bad.I started decorating her with squares of an old sewing pattern and glue.
When I was finished, I thought she needed something more.....
I went trough my stash of printed tissue paper,
and printed napkins.
Oh my, I had so much fun, I couldn't stop!
I gave her butterfly eyelashes, lot's of them! And a rose blossom mouth.
A bit of industrial chic as well.
I'm keeping her in my craft room, to hold various pieces of jewelry I make.
I decorated the crown area with some of my broach collection.
Some turquoise earrings I made,
Here's a bracelet I made out of bits and pieces.
And a few more pieces I made a while ago.
Organizing can be fun and free, I didn't spend a cent making this.

What a great idea and then 'making it happen' for the head. Love the butterflies and roses especially. Thanks for hosting.

mary,
ReplyDeleteI like that you displayed vintage jewelry on yours. I decoupaged mine ( 3 of them) and addded lace collars and cameo's and used the hole in the bottom of each to place them on a coat stand and displayed some of my Victorian hats on them...
Hugs,
Deb

Turned out cute! I used to have one of these, but have no idea what I did with it. Way too many years ago. LOL Now I wish I still had it. I"d use it for a hat stand.
