Crate And Barrel Votive Vignette

I found these four Crate And Barrel glass votive holders at a thrift store and the peacock feather tips from a yard sale. Click on the image to get a better view. I love the colors in the feathers and they completely match the votive holders, which I didn't even plan. Love it when that happens!

Mosaic Monday and Blue Monday

I love Rachel Ashwell, she is so inspiring! And it's easy to take her style and personalize it to suit your own taste and budget. This book called "The Shabby Chic Collection", is a special collection of her first 3 books, "Shabby Chic", "Shabby Chic Treasure Hunting and Decorating Guide", and "The Shabby Chic Home". It was only $5.99 at GW, Score! :O)

Rancho Del Zocalo Restaurant In Disneyland

I love this restaurant at Disneyland. Not only are the lamps just gorgeous, but the colors and patterns they reflect everywhere are magical looking. Please click on the mosaic to enlarge.

Mosaic Monday

This cute little book (5"x5") is entitled Perfect Pairs by Hulton Getty and was a free curb find. It has quotes and sayings pertaining to love and 50 different vintage black and white photos of Hollywood love duos. I like to display it around this time of year with my Valentines decorations.

Jr. High/High School Ministry Room At My Church

This is where my boys get to spend their time on Sunday while my husband and I are in the main sanctuary. They have a really great youth pastor and it's a great atmosphere for the kid's to fellowship and get to know one another. They change around the decor in fun, funky ways. I liked how they took these out-dated tv's and small trees someone cut down from their yard, and re-purposed them into a wall display. Very frugal idea.
They take the kid's surfing on the weekends and store the church surfboards on the ceiling. They also have drums and guitars to play. I like the great amount of blue in the room.

The only new item that I added to this display, is the driftwood garland I found at the shell store. Other than that, everything else I went shopping for from around the house, to display in a new way. I was surprised how much I liked my cat painting in front of the fire place, which we never use anyway.

Bits Of Blue In My Kitchen

Happy Mosaic Monday and Blue Monday!

My kitchen and the rest of my home is basically a neutral pallet of white and beige. I can pretty easily change accessories to go with the different season's and holiday's. But most of the time I add beachy colors of blue, my favorite color.

It's A Wonderful Life

We love this movie and watch it every Christmas. My husband found the book at a yard sale for .50 cents, it was a "wonderful" bargain!

Mosaic Monday

This is the fun way Disneyland decorates the haunted mansion during the holidays. They keep it this way from October through December, in the Nightmare Before Christmas Movie theme. You can click on the mosaic to enlarge.

The First Noel

This is the nativity set I grew up with as a child. My mother always placed it on top of the large console tv in the living room. It never feels like Christmas to me unless I display it each year. It shows a little wear and tear since it's very vintage, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

Mosaic Monday

I know, this isn't much of a mosaic, but I just had to show the pictures my husband took of some huge spider webs in our front yard. He only took three, so that's why my mosaic is so puny. Anyhoo, October around here is when the spider population seems to take off. I am not a spider fan. I do recognize how great they are for our garden, but the garden spiders we get are huge and they make huge webs in walk ways. If you've ever walked into a huge spider web, you never want to do it twice. The pictures I have here aren't the best focus, sorry honey, I know you tried! I think if you click on the bottom picture, you might be able to see what looks like a clothes line going across our yard, but it's actually spider line. Eek!

Blue, Metamorphosis and Mosaic Monday

My Husband wanted to make a "To the beach" sign for our front yard. He checked out a library book for some ideas and used a huge piece of plywood we've had for a while, which he found by the curb for free.

He did a really great job drawing it out free hand and then used the jigsaw to cut it out. The picture with the size 13 shoe is meant to show how large the cutout is. I used the library book and some old craft paint to finish it up. The picture he choose is a sailfish, he glued on bamboo skewers for the top fin before I painted it.
