My Top Ten Picks From MM #53

My favorite cookie recipe.
Macaroons

2 egg whites
1 pinch of salt
1/2 cup of white sugar (or Splenda)
2 cups of sweetened flaked coconut
* melted Chocolate optional

1. Preheat oven to 375'. Lightly grease a baking sheet.

2. beat together the egg whites with salt in a small bowl until
it forms soft peaks. Add the sugar 1 tablespoon at a time while
continuing to beat at high speed until stiff peaks form. Continue
to beat until glossy.

3. Fold the coconut into the egg mixture. Drop mixture by the tablespoon-
ful onto the prepared sheet. Spacing about 2" apart. Bake 12 minutes.

*Optional~ I melted 1 cup of chocolate chips in a double boiler and dipped part of the cookies right in. I placed them on wax paper until the chocolate set.

Wow! I love these choices: so diverse, so personal. If you can't find something in this emporium to suit then look again. Jo @ Let's Face the Music
