Welcome To The 185th Masterpiece Monday And Adding Yellow To Our Bedroom!

Our  bedroom has a soft, calming coastal pallet of white, beige, grey and blue. I love our bed because we have two mattress toppers on our cal king mattress, one memory foam and on top of that is a pillow top. I like lot's and lot's of pillows, down and memory foam mostly. Very Comfy!
I have one all weather down comforter and a collection of duvets, I love duvets! I have them in all my fav coastal colors and sheets and pillow cases too. Everything is luxury thread count and soft, mostly from Pottery Barn. I paid next to nothing for all of it here or there would be no way I'd have it otherwise. And once a month I add to my linen collection. It's been a real blessing.

At the last foster parent distribution, I spied this yellow duvet. I used to decorate my home, my entire home, in red and yellow. After awhile I grew very tired of it and I changed to a white and coastal pallet. I love the calmness of it. But lately yellow has been catching my eye more and more.

I know that I don't want to over due the bright colors ever again. But I thought it would be fun to add a bright pop of color now and then. I mean, one of the best features of a mostly neutral tone decor is it's versatility right? That is what sold me on it in the first place.

So, I decided to try being more versatile. Even though I was originally unsure of adding this color to my bedroom, I was pleasantly surprised! So I went through my linen closet and pulled out some pillow covers to go with it.

The multi-colored pillow case really ties the yellow and turquoise together. Like a ray of sunshine against a blue sky. It makes a big statement without any commitment.  All I have to do is put it back into the closet to change it back, easy peasy.

It would be nice if I could test the bedding out, but it seems my cats have all claimed it already!
Well, I'm glad they approve!

Good morning, Mary,
I'm with you about coastal colours because you can add a pop of brightness wherever you want. I am nuts about luxury bed linens and love Pottery Barn as well. I'm the same way about table linens, lol. I search out the best deals otherwise it's a very expensive addiction!
I love your cozy bedroom and the yellow is great for some colour.
I don't have a link today - trying to take it easy this week for a change and get some sun. Just wanted to pop by and say hi. Have a great week :)

Good morning and thank you as always for hosting!
My link party contribution this week may not completely follow everyone's guidelines, but my friend Sunny from the well known blog Life in Rehab is in trouble and I'm doing whatever I can to help her get her head above water. It is my hope that as a spiritual community steeped in faith we can join forces and prevent her and her family from drowning.
Please take a moment to read my link and see if you can't join me in preparing this Caring Casserole :-)
Blessed be,
Michael @ My "Diabetic" Food

It looks like your kittys love your comfy and pretty bed as much as you do! I totally agree with you that having a neutral pallette of colors in your home allows you to change/add colors seasonally. I love all of your pretty linens! Thanks for hosting your party for us!

Love.Love.Love the pop of yellow! It looks great and I giggled when I saw that you too rummage through your closets pulling out pieces to add to you current project. Isn't it fun! Of course I have to say that your furry pillows are adorable and my faves :)
