What Can $6.85 Buy You? (And A Giveaway!)

My very favorite sales are rummage sales held at churches and schools. The prices are always better than average yard sales, there's always a huge selection of goodies and the money goes to a good cause, win/win! Yesterday we went to our very favorite annual rummage sale at a local church.
Here's my loot:
1) Le Cordon Bleu~At Home cookbook $1.00
2) Yoga For Women $1.00
3) Four shell shaped glass dishes $1.00
4) Some cute Hawaiian print material .50 cents
5) A vintage cake server with mother of pearl handle .25 cents
6) a vintage leather and silver belt .10 cents

and..........
an ocean scape oil painting for $3.00. My husband and I fell in love with the beautiful aqua blues in this painting. What do you think about the frame? I'm afraid to do anything to it for fear that I'll ruin it. I can't help but want to paint it white and shab it out a little though. What do you think I should do? Should I leave it or change it?

Oh, and please click HERE to enter my new giveaway!

Super finds. I love them. Your picture is gorgeous, I love the wonderful colors in it too. So pretty. I like the frame, however being painted white would look great too. Hugs, Marty

I think painting it white would be great! It would make the whites in the picture pop even more too. Either way, it's a great picture weather you change the frame or not and a steal at $3.00. Love it!

Mary, I agree with you: I love those aqua blues in your painting. I think that painting the frame white would help the blue to pop even more.

Happy Blue Monday!

I think a white frame would suit your seascape best.

Hi,

I agree that a distressed white would suit this painting. Fantastic buys for almost 7$. Good for you. Thanks for sharing.

All great finds from the thrift store. Good for you! I would also vote to paint the frame white. I'm sure you will do a good job of it so don't worry about ruining it.

Love the painting. Yes I would take the painting out and sand it use a white wash and paint the linen with a blue water color. Have a great day! Debbie

Love the ocean scape!! I think that painting the frame white and shabbying it up (is that a word or did I just make that up??) will be a great compliment to the painting. Your other finds are great too!! Happy Blue Monday dear friend!!
