A Bit Of Turquoise Mercury Glass Goes A Long Way

Please remember to enter my GIVEAWAY, it ends on May 14th

The new Summer Pottery Barn catalog has some really cool beach themed table scapes using turquoise colored mercury glass votive holders.

I decided to try a similar look so....I gathered some turquoise colored table linens,

And some beachy 60's flatware from a yard sale,

some sand colored linens

And added some wavy, watery looking glassware,

And a bunch of seashells to go with my starfish plates.

And of course my Dollar Tree turquoise mercury glass votive holders, at a much better price than "The Barn".

Please visit Between Naps On The Porch for more Tablescape Thursday posts.

Canvas Storage Box From A Shoe Box

I made this:

From this:

I used this extra large shoebox, left over from buying my husbands shoes. It has an attached lid and a metal grommet embellishment. I decided to put it to good use.

Sorry about the blurry photo, this is just a picture of the shelf paper I found at the 99 Cent Store, I love that place!

Sorry, I didn't take a lot of pictures of this process, but after completely lining the inside of the box with shelf paper, I measured and cut strips of Home Depot Drop Cloth material to fit the box. I left some of the hem on to give it a finished look. I Modpodged The fabric to the box and let it completely dry. Then I tacked down the edges with hot glue and clothes pinned them.

I had some wooden letter tags and twine and decorated the grommet, using hot glue.

Then I hot glued on some ribbon.
